Brazil is located in South America and has 26 states and one federal district – Brasília (the capital). A Portuguese-speaking country with a multi-cultural and ethnically diverse origin, the nation is the result of strong immigration of people from many places.
Brazil has a large territory that comprises different ecosystems, a rich habitat for many animal and plant species. Brazilian´s climate comprises a wide range of weather conditions across a large area and a varied topography. However, most of the states are located in tropical areas. So, it doesn´t matter which time of the year you choose to come, you can always take your swimsuit with you! But, further south you move, more varied temperatures you will get.
The country plays an important role in world production in agricultural commodities such as orange, coffee, soybean sugar cane, cattle, cotton, maize and others. And besides agricultural and industrial activities, tourism in Brazil is also a key sector to the country economy. Natural areas are most popular, but it is possible to enjoy ecotourism with leisure and recreation, adventure travel, gastronomic tourism as well as cultural tourism. Among the most popular destinations are the Amazon Rainforest, Pantanal in the Center-West, beaches and dunes in the Northeast, beaches at Rio de Janeiro, the Iguassu Falls at Foz do Iguaçu, cultural tourism in Minas Gerais and business trips in São Paulo City.
The cuisine varies by region, reflecting the mix of native and immigrant populations. In addition to coffee and juices, cachaça is our national beverage, a distilled native liquor from sugar cane, that together with Tahiti Lime, some sugar and ice rocks make the ingredients of our national cocktail: Caipirinha!
