JAMES R CRANNEY JR. PRESIDENT OF THE CALIFORNIA CITRUS QUALITY COUNCIL.
“Every 4 years I go to the Citrus Congress, it’s a great opportunity to meet with colleagues and people we collaborate with, and people from industries around the world, getting to know what problems they have, what issues they’re facing, and the solutions they’re coming up with. It gives us a chance to learn more, and be a member of the global citrus industry and the citrus community worldwide.
I’m very impressed with the organization of the meeting, in the various levels having a well organized and easy congress to attend. I’m really impressed with the app that we have on our phones and know easily what’s coming next, we can plan which meetings or presentations we want to see, and we even get a reminder on our phones! Also I took the pre-conference tour, I was very impressed with the organization for the tour. They had very knowledgeable people on the tour that could give us a good idea of what we were looking at.
For California it’s been extremely beneficial, this relationship with the Brazilian research community, what we’ve been able to learn from the Brazilian experiences with citrus greening has enabled us to put policies to protect our industry.”
